Too Overwhelmed to Work Out?

It’s Day 7 of the COR44™ 12 Days of Fitness Challenge! Are you excited? Inspired? It is my deepest prayer that you are. But maybe you’re not. Maybe today you’re looking at the week ahead with Christmas looming, and a new year approaching, and you’re wondering how in the world you’re going to accomplish all the things you have left to do.

Maybe today your response feels less inspired and more like: I’M OVERWHELMED!!

Let’s do this together: B R E A T H E .

Today I’m giving you a permission slip. Are you ready for it? REST.

  1. Rest: Exercise is some of the best medicine for your health and relieving stress. But if your body is tired, sore or just plain exhausted you need to listen. Listening to your body, your heart, your experience and your intuition is the best skill you can ever learn. Practice. Rest is good for your body and soul. You deserve it.
  2. Spend time alone: With all things merry, but realistically probably quite crazy, sometimes you just need to take some time for yourself. Go for a walk, take a bath, write in your journal. Take time to reconnect with yourself. With your dreams. Take some time to think about who you want to be, and what you want to change in the new year.
  3. Practice Yoga: Yoga has changed my life this last year. Once prone to hustle and strive and sweat hard every single day, I’ve learned the deeply restorative practice of yoga. It’s helped me find my center, listen to my soul, accept my circumstances and surrender my life.
  4. Do something you love: Reconnect with what brings you joy. What do you love? What makes you come alive or feel joy? Remember that you only get one life; there is no dress rehearsal. This is it! It’s not all grit and hustle. Design a life you actually love.

If you are exhausted and overwhelmed, remember that tomorrow is a new day. Your body will tell you what it needs and sometimes what it needs the most is rest. At COR44™, more than hustle and exhaustion, we believe in rest. Your body, mind and spirt need it. Today’s CORbelief is: I AM WELL.

The verse that has most revolutionized my life over the last year comes from Psalm 139:13-14:

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Today, as you rest and breathe and practice the art of simply being, may you reflect on these words. May you inhale them deeply into your heart and adopt them as true. For you. You, my friend, are fearfully and wonderfully made. May you know that today, full well.

Don’t forget to order your COR44™ Personal Training Cards™ in time for Christmas! I’ve been a wrapping, packing, postal queen fool the last two days because you guys are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! I even learned how to ship an order of SIX today for one sweet, sweet friend and all the women she loves! I started operation child labor tonight and had my boys help get things prepped for your orders today! What a trip this whole thing is. One thing I know: I love you guys. I love you, and I’m so blessed by you. Wow, this is going to be a fun journey together! Here’s a glimpse of the last two days…

I love that quote. Do it anyway! You have made this so not scary. Even when I think about being scared (believe me I was very scared early in the process when it felt like I was diving off a cliff and spending every dollar I have!) — now I just smile. There is so much JOY. Every one is wrapped and packed in my very own room, with love. Each name and life is prayed over as I send out such a tiny offering, knowing that it is God who will make a difference in your life. That somehow, He will make this matter in ways I will never know or understand. I just can’t wait to hear the stories. Please tell me your stories.

This mission is about fitness, yes, but mostly freedom. And we’re the lucky ones. We get to do it together.

>>Order yours HERE!<<<

With so much love. xoxo
