i have a very dear friend to whom everything has meaning. deep, profound, soulful, soul-FILLED meaning. i love her very, very much. she is life to me. love. a true grace uncommon.

she relishes the simple. the everyday, ordinary extraordinary moments are never lost on her. not once.

many months ago she sent me this photo. we had met and she shared each of them with me and their deep significance to her soul. reminders. inspirers. carriers of hope, courage and joy. direct lines of communication straight to her heart. messages deeply rooted in the cavern of the human spirit, carried in her hand to remind. to instill. to bolster, comfort and bring peace.

talisman

ordinary objects. walked over, overlooked and missed every day of our busy lives. and yet holders of truth. bearers of hope. precious reminders of living a life boldly unhindered. free. i have a few of my own. there have been nights i sleep with them in my hand, or under my pillow, or nestled in the pocket of my jacket during my day. powerful reminders in a life where we often feel powerless.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE: what weight bears on your heart? what causes you to toss and turn and stay awake at night? find an ordinary object as a reminder to you. a bearer of truth, life, grace, and peace. something to hold when hope needs uplifting, when faith is waning or love is failing. find comfort in the extraordinary power of a meaning-infused ordinary object. a personal talisman reminding you to choose joy despite your circumstances. to practice courage in a world that overlooks ordinary heroes. to find peace in the midst of a storm.

soon, an ordinary object you never knew you were missing will suddenly become something you don’t ever want to be without. extraordinary.

Just found you/this! I’m going to do this. With prayer, I am going to seek to identify a particular talisman to remind me of positive truths that I want to focus on regarding wounds I carry which occasionally break open….
