trust : {extra}ordinary conspiracy

i believe that life works out.

one way or another, in the end our upside down always turns right side up.

because we live in the merciful hand of a redeeming God. a creator whose design for us is good. whose love for us is pure. holy. for as surely as He gave us breath, He fashioned a story. a purpose to bring Him praise. a beautiful, loving, extraordinary conspiracy.

i believe that we mess up our lives a lot on our own. take ourselves off track. living in perpetual states of doubt and fear and unacknowledged pain we live in a reality based on the state of our emotions. our actions and life direction driven by how we feel…what we desire, who we love, what we hate.

the fragility of our flesh.

i took this photo on a run the other morning. the early dawn drove in a fog so deep and dense i hesitated as i approached. afraid to step across the line.

fog run

when i crossed the threshold i was on quite a different road. i couldn’t see more than two feet in front of my face. could hear cars approaching but couldn’t see where they were. how close. i would climb down into the ditch and wait for them to pass, knowing they surely could not see me.

as i ran through the fog i realized that i do not know the path that lies before me. i cannot see what obstacles lie before me or what danger might be lurking in the mist.

but He does.

all He asks is that we trust Him. keep moving forward. believing with each step that He has already gone before us and prepared the way. holding on to a faith that is bigger than us. wilder than our dreams. more powerful than our darkest fear.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE: walk into the fog. find your faith when you can no longer see the road with your own eyes.

“all He asks is that we trust Him. keep moving forward. believing with each step that He has already gone before us and prepared the way. holding on to a faith that is bigger than us. wilder than our dreams. more powerful than our darkest fear.” …. Mmm… My soul is listening. This truth, is attending to my inner cry. A paradox of utter confidence & unwavering faith in God AND human frailty. Trust expressed through human frailty. Humility. The only place of true rest.
