wish : the beginning of wonder

wish type

i took this photo of my middle son a few years ago and i still look at it in wonder.  a captured moment in time of a boy full of dreams.  a wishful heart.  a hopeful, free spirit.  a life full of blank pages.

wishes. big, small, frivolous and stunningly complex.  as children, we believe.  we want to believe.

wishes on rainbows, starlight, a full moon.  falling stars.  daisies, dandelions and fallen eyelashes.

fun.  playful.  the igniters of dreams.

but over time, burdens overshadow free spirits.  to-do lists replace wish lists.  we forget the power of a dream.

the simple joy hidden in a blissful, wishful heart.

through the eyes of a child we see.  that a happy life is made of small things.  dandelions and dreams.  and wishes come true.

believe.

🙂 Thank you for the reminder. Dreaming is scary in the way that love in scary–it requires giving your heart to something, being vulnerable to the possibilities. Eeek!
