YOUR BEST YOU Challenge!

Your Best You January Challenge

Are you constantly comparing yourself to others, wishing you could be them, someone else or different altogether?

Perhaps you’re convinced that you would love yourself more if you were just a little bit different? Maybe 10 pounds lighter, a face lift brighter or a decade younger?

Believe me, I get it. I live in the same culture that parades in front of us an endless supply of seemingly perfect bodies and beautiful faces luring us into believing we would be better or more beautiful IF.

IF we were a little bit more or a little bit less. Whether it’s tighter, brighter, righter, lighter, younger – we all long to be a little bit something-er. And if we aren’t happy there, then we want to be the best. The fittest, thinnest, hippest, beautifulest, trendiest, happiest. I’ve fallen prey to every one of the same lies that you have and found they’re meaningless. Empty promises.

I remember when I used to make new years resolutions. I don’t make them anymore. It wasn’t that I thought it was a bad idea to dream about who I could be…it’s just that I think I’m really just fine the way I already am. Sure, I’ve got strengths and weaknesses and things I want to work on just like everyone else, but overall I kind of like who God made me to be. I’ve got insecurities and sometimes I totally get myself tripped up on something ridiculous, but that’s to be expected. Those are the normal things, the things that make us REAL. Those are the things that make us worth knowing because in accepting that we are not perfect, we have learned compassion, understanding and grace.

I’ve learned the best way to be the best version of me, is to embrace me. To stop comparing myself to others and begin to embrace both my strengths and weaknesses, my fears and my faults and let them inspire me to find the greatness within me. After years of searching for something outside of me, I started focusing on me. The parts that I love. The things that work and move and really matter when everything else fades away. The deal is, we’re all getting older. We’ve learned enough by now to know that not everything stays the same. Our bodies, our minds, our friends, our health or our story.

We are the sum of all of our parts. When our minds are weak our bodies suffer. When our faith is weak or mind wanders. We are connected; spirit, soul, mind and body, and each of these areas combine to make us beautiful. A beautiful woman is not found in the prettiest face if she has a mean heart. We are more and we were made for more.

If you’re tired of buying into empty promises and want to find your own beautiful strength, join us! During this one month challenge we will:

  • Set physical goals and work toward them every day
  • Get a weekly workout written by a personal trainer for your level: beginner, intermediate or advanced
  • Create personal mantras to inspire us to stay determined when times get hard
  • Find out what foods fuel our bodies and what zaps our strength
  • Shop the latest beauty trends and wardrobe essentials from one of my best friends and fashion experts
  • Begin seeing what makes us beautiful
  • Discover what makes us strong
  • Start cultivating beauty from the inside out

Comparison doesn’t have to steal your joy. Seeing another beautiful woman doesn’t have to leave you feeling unworthy, unloveable or not enough. You ARE enough. Just as you are. Are you ready to move forward into the woman you were created to be?

This is a journey to discovering and becoming YOUR BEST YOU – the best possible version of you. My prayer is that you find that it is possible: you can love the skin you’re in, right now. Hi Tammy,
I just wanted to take the time to thank you for doing what you are doing! You are making a difference, a big difference. You have truly impacted my life as you have opened up and so many of your posts speak to me in such a personal way that I often feel like you know me. I would call it bizarre if I didn’t know that God lives and that He makes instruments out of the willing. Thank you for being willing Tammy! I appreciate so much being uplifted and encouraged by you. It is not easy to be as open and honest as you are, so once again, thank you. I am really excited about this new month & year and will be participating in this challenge. Thank you for issuing it! 🙂
